3 Scriptures To Apply To Your Business
Ever wondered how scriptures can lead you to success and give you a more meaningful connection with God? Let’s dive right into 3 of my favorite scriptures you can apply to your business right away!
Scripture #1- Matthew 6:33
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
You’ve probably heard many times to seek first the kingdom of God. Well, the whole verse says , “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and everything else will be added unto you”… so the question is, what are all these things?
You actually need to look at the scripture prior to Matthew 6:33. If you read Matthew verses 25 to 31, in that whole section, Jesus is talking about why we are not to worry about the basic things in life.
We are not to worry about the food we’re going to eat or the clothes
that we’re going to wear. He’s emphasizing and teaching us that we
are not to focus on those things or worry about those things.
But why? The reason is because our father already knows what we need.
When we read Matthew 6:29, Jesus is actually teaching us to access His provision for our lives. He is telling us that we don’t need to worry about the basic things in life because He has already provided them.
However, there is something we do need to DO. That is to seek first the kingdom of God. Right out of his own mouth he is instructing us on how to access His provision. It is a recipe for your life and your business.
If we are worried about all these outside things, we are being like the rest of the world.
Versus when we’re called to be children of God who seek first the kingdom of God in his righteousness and trust that all these things will be added unto us.
Scripture #2- Matthew 6: 24
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Another one of my favorites if you want to apply scripture to your business now. I want to point out something else around this first we often don’t talk about in the verses that come just a little bit before Matthew 6:33.
We talk a lot about seeking first the kingdom of God. But you know what Matthew 6:24 says just a little bit further up on the page? Jesus is talking about how you can’t serve two masters. You can’t serve God and money.
You must pick your master. Money is not sinful. The LOVE of money is what God’s word warns us about.
What’s interesting is that you know if you’re so focused on how “I need money so I can have the clothes” and the food and the things of this world and how “I need money” – then money can become who you’re serving.
Because in your mind money is your access to everything. But the truth is that we need to seek first the kingdom of God and His is righteousness because you can’t serve two masters at one time or your ‘re double minded. Do you understand that?
You’re you’re going to love one and hate the other – He tells us that.
We have to make sure our master is God and not money. Consider how quickly entrepreneurs can get caught up in that.
It’s a matter of where are we putting our focus?
You can tell where your focus is when you’re worrying about all the things of the world:
–You worry about the material things
– or about how the provisions will come about
–you’re worried about when the provisions will come about
When God’s instruction already was to “seek ME first”.
Are we seeing money as our access to all the things we need? Or are we keeping our eye on God as our provider and seeking him first? It is a very fine line that a lot of entrepreneurs cross over and don’t realize it. They often times don’t realize how quickly they can all fall into this where they are serving the wrong master.

Avoid the “I’m going to get it…” mentality.
“I’m going to go make it happen.”
“I will go make enough money so I can provide these things.”
“I can speak this into existence”…which gets into the whole new age movement law of attraction and manifestation but thats a topic for another day!
Now let’s dive into the final scripture you can apply to your business now.
Scripture #3- Proverbs 16:3
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
This verse emphasizes the importance of dedicating your business plans and actions to God, trusting that He will guide and establish your success.
By committing your plans to the Lord, you acknowledge His sovereignty and wisdom. This trust allows you to lean on His understanding and guidance, rather than relying solely on your own limited perspective.
It’s an invitation to seek God’s will in your business decisions, ensuring that they align with His greater purpose.
The promise that God will “establish your plans” gives you reassurance. It doesn’t necessarily mean that everything will go exactly as you envision, but that God will bring about His good purposes through your efforts. Talk about peace and confidence amid uncertainties and challenges in the business world.
In Conclusion
By committing our business endeavors to the Lord, we not only seek His blessing but also ensure that our work contributes to a higher purpose, aligning with His divine plan. It can deepen our trust in Him, build resilience, and shape us into better leaders.
