As an entrepreneur, do you ever have this battle in your mind that you want to help others, but you also want to make money yourself.
And then you have the battle of a desire to be this big time authority in your industry…but needing and wanting to stay humble.
Now I’d like to speak to the Christian Entrepreneurs out there…because we have a BIG message to share with the world. One that’s even bigger than others in our field because our message is laced with Christ at the cente. So we often feel this conflict brewing inside of us. It can even prevent us from pushing on with our cause.
Today, I want to share with you some thoughts on achieving that authority and potentially “celebrity status” in your niche while doing EXACTLY what God commands us to do…

How To Become An Authority In Your Niche God’s Way
Lets break this down to show how it is the guide to becoming an authority in our spaces by looking at Philippians 2: 1-11…
Philippians 2:1-4
If youve gotten anything at all out of following christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart if you care–then do me a favor: agree with each other, love each other, be deep spirited friends, dont push your way to the front; dont sweet talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside and help others get ahead. Dont be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
If you pause there, lets catch the nuggets of gold…
Service will make you rise above the noise
In these verses we should recognize that Christ is the perfect example of how to rise to authority. And you cant miss the fact that you must first be a follower of Christ.
He is a prime example of how to receive the true calling on what we should be becoming an authority in so you can understand your value and act in accordance with it.
Another version says to do “nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in HUMILITY count OTHERS more significant than yourselves”.
This is the true definition of serving your tribe. You want to know how to get to the top? Its by serving. Its by putting others FIRST. By looking out for the best interest of your customers, your team, not just whats in it for you.
Dont be obsessed with making it to the top
Instead, be obsessed with sharing your message; putting your followers FIRST, getting to the top will follow.
Phillipians 2: 5-8 says:
Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, He set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became HUman! It was an incredibly hmbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death–and the worst kind of death at that…a crucifixion.
There is an incredible message here you don’t want to miss…
When you have a desire to become an authority in your niche, your identity is going to change. And this process of change is hard. It’s not as easy as you wish it were. It was easy for Jesus because he knew he had God. He knew his role and purpose.
But what did Jesus do? He humbled himself so much that he was willing to die. How can we as entrepreneurs be humble as we serve our audience? Most of us are stepping into our roles with one foot in and one foot out.
Look back at Philippians 2: 9-11 says…
Obedience will bring glory to God, and honor to your business.
Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and earth–even those long ago dead and buried–will bow in worship before this Jesus Chist, and call out in Praise that he is the Master of All, to the glorious honor of God the Father.
Okay so here is the Promise from God, are you ready?
God lifted jesus to a high and honored place far above anything. God EXALTED Jesus.
I believe we are all created in Gods image and asked to follow christ because he too wants to lift us high.
That authority you desire, that “celebrity status” that you want in your industry, thats Gods plan, but you cant look at celebrity as “keeping up with the Kardashians”.
Celebrity comes from following the order from above. Authority celebrity is your reward for a job well done, your service to God and those around you, for doing what you were born to do.
