For those like myself with no graphic design skills at all, Canva has emerged as the ultimate playground for me.  I literally don’t know what I would do without this website and it is probably the most used website in my business.  

Canva has a free version and a paid version.   The difference between the two is that with the paid version you have access to a lot more features and images that you don’t on the free.  You can certainly use the free and do just fine, but in my professional opinion, the paid version, which is fairly inexpensive, is worth its weight in gold!  

With its user-friendly interface and an extensive array of design tools, Canva empowers individuals to transform their imaginative ideas into stunning visuals without the need for complex software or a design degree.  In fact, if you have not imagination at all, Canva is even more for you because Canva does all the design thinking for you if you need it to!

Freelance Graphic Design

How: Create a portfolio showcasing your Canva designs and offer your graphic design services on freelancing platforms like Upwork or Fiverr. You can design social media posts, logos, business cards, and more for clients.

She wasn’t a graphics designer but she found businesses that needed help marketing and started creating things like thumbnails, IG posts, etc. She contacted them and charged them $500/month to do this for them. That is the type of potential a person can have with Canva. Isn’t that a cool story?!

Design Merchandise

How: Design T-shirts, mugs, phone cases, or other merchandise using Canva. Set up an online store on platforms like Shopify or Printful and sell your custom-designed products.  You can use a cricut to print your own designs on shirts or use a  dropshipping site.

Affiliate Marketing with Canva Pro

How: Join Canva’s affiliate program and promote Canva Pro. Create tutorials, guides, or design resources using Canva, and include your affiliate link. Earn commissions for every user who signs up for Canva Pro through your link. There are certain guidelines to be accetped as an affiliate but you can check out their affiliate program HERE.

Offer Workshops or Masterclass:

How: Use Canva to create visually appealing presentations and materials for workshops. Offer online or in-person workshops teaching others how to master a certain skill.  Charge a fee for participation. I have a really cool story about an everyday mom who crushed this idea. Canva Templates for Sale:

How: Design customizable templates for social media posts, presentations, resumes, or other common needs. Sell these templates on platforms like Fiverr, Upworks, Gumroad or your own website. Market them as time-saving solutions for individuals and businesses.

How: Create online courses teaching whatever skills or expertise you have.  Maybe you have homemaking skills and you want to create a mini course about how to master the art of canning. Or, perhaps you are really good at gardening and you want to create a slide show course about growing vegetables.   Design your course materials using Canva and offer step-by-step tutorials. Platforms like Thrivecart or Teachable allow you to sell your courses to a global audience.
